The REAL War on Women

A little before the 2012 election cycle, the Democrats began a meme in order to win over women voters – the War on Women.

They defined this war as Republicans taking arms against women to snuff out their rights – which basically translates to two things:

1.    The right for a women have an abortion at ANY time during pregnancy without restrictions, and at the expense of the taxpayers if they cannot afford it.
2.    The ability to obtain free birth control pills if they so choose.

First, the majority of Americans believe there should be ban on abortions after 20 weeks. Furthermore, after watching the Gosnell trial, and now hearing from employees of Planned Parenthood in Delaware, it is clear clinics that provide abortions should be required to meet the standards of any surgical facility. The safety of the patient is at stake regarding both of these issues. Democrats scream about having the ability to obtain safe abortions. Well, let’s chat with the women who visited Kermit Gosnell. I do not think they entered a safe environment. Karnamaya Mongar sure as hell didn’t.

Second, c’mon! Obtaining birth control, and cheap birth control, is not difficult! I don’t know a single Republican who wants to rid the world of birth control pills. We just don’t want to pay for yours!

But I do see a real War on Women.

It is a disrespect shown to women by men, and the women who enable them to continue this behavior for fear their party would lose power.

We see it in the headlines:

I watch women like Nancy Pelosi stand up and make excuses for these dirt bags, and I am ashamed to be a woman. She fulfills the the typical stereotype of the enabler.

If a man cheats on his wife while in office, he has proven he has the audacity to lie to his wife, which tells me he will have no problem lying to me, his boss. Time to take a break. Resign from office and get your personal life in order. Then, by all means, if you are called to return to public service, make a go of it. But you know what, less than one year sober is not enough time! Give me at least five, better yet, ten years of working your tail off to prove to your spouse you are the trustworthy man she stood at the alter with. Let me, the voter, know it is a pattern. Let me know it is something you have poured your heart and soul into because your family is more important than power.

Character counts.

So, when we talk about the War on Women, let’s look at the real war where men treat women like a piece of meat. Let’s fight it by not giving these men a prominent place in our lives, and our political parties. The speakers opening our national conventions should not have sex scandals with 20-year-old interns they took advantage of in the oval office looming over the convention hall.
